Counter tops and utilites lines

Day 139.  36 days til end of October.

The day started out with our counter tops being delivered, and installed!

I really like our kitchen island and the surrounding counter top.

                                                                            Roy likes it too!

Plus we've now got the guest bathroom cabinet and top,

                                                                         the laundry room,

and our vanity (with the wrong color walls. They'll repaint them white).

Obviously, there was a lot of granite delivered today.

Fortunately, they were delivered in the morning,  Because shortly after they brought in the countertops, our new best friend, Aaron, the excavator, went to town trenching up the entire easement/driveway to lay the utilities.

This one gives you an idea of how deep that trench is.

Dave, excavator #2, is standing in it.

So, the plan is we'll have sewer and water lines hooked up by the end of this week.  Gas and electric is still a week or 2 away, since the city has to connect those.

For what it's worth, these developments are a bit later than usual. But since there's a 2nd house going up at the end of the driveway/easement, our builder (who is doing both) wanted to wait until house 2 was ready.  It really is more efficient (and cost-saving) to trench, find and lay the lines for both houses at the same time. Even though we were way ahead!
