Deep dig

Image
It's difficult to capture in a picture just how deep they've had to dig, not to mention how much rock they had to break up to dig so deep, just to establish our foundation.  Kinda reminds me of when I was a kid and I tried to dig my way to China!  With Roy in the picture, you get a little better perspective.   This one reminds me of the rock quarry!  For better or for worse, lots of rock being removed. We are thinking they may be done with this phase in the next day or 2.  (Fingers crossed).

I want a Garage!!

Couldn't resist these 2 pictures.  In case you didn't already know, THIS IS WHY I WANT A GARAGE AND NOT A 70 FT WALKWAY in my new home!!! By the way, I just shoveled this entire walkway less than 24 hours ago.

Too much snow!

OK, I get it; we need the moisture, but enough already!  These are 2 shots from same place; just zoomed in so you could see the excavator.  Hopefully, we'll get back on track by Monday.

Serious earth moving

Image
They not only need to move a lot of earth to make way for the house foundation, they've got to break up a lot of big rocks! This weekend, with no workers present, we toasted our new home site! (Recognize the champagne glasses Joe and Claudia?)

OMG. It's really happening!

Our first clue was a house number sign off the cul-de-sac.  Hey, little steps are good!   And today, March 7, 2024, the excavation began for real!
